MCL inks deals for skill development

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar for imparting skill development training in the project areas.

The coal miner would be spending Rs 1.38 crore from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to execute the project. It would be providing skill development training to the youths from the peripheral villages of mining areas.

These two CSR initiatives namely ‘Udaan’ and ‘Sahyog’ will help 40 peripheral youths to join two-year full-time ITI training in Fitter/Electrician trades and 30 divyangjans to join a 6-month-long skill training program respectively.

MoU’s were signed by PK Chakraborty, GM (CSR) on behalf of MCL and P K Sahoo, Principal Director and Head, CIPET on behalf of CIPET.
