Tata Steel marks quality month

Tata Steel is observing November as Quality Month. The theme for the Quality Month 2021 is “GenQ: Next Generation of Quality”.

It focuses on the next Generation Quality, to perfect the balance between people, processes and technology.

Corporate Quality Assurance (CQA) and Total Quality Management (TQM) department have jointly organised a myriad of events, mainly on virtual platforms, which includes WoW session, Q-Talk by Customer, Apex TQM Nite, QMS Internal Auditors’ Meet, Vendor Panel Discussions etc.

In his message T V Narendran, CEO & MD Tata Steel has emphasized that the awareness of ‘Quality’ is ever-increasing globally and therefore its scope has also been broadened-from the concept of simply manufacturing, to value adding it through maintenance and services. “The purpose of World Quality Month is not just to reiterate issues pertaining to quality, but to raise the awareness for the need of continuous improvement and performance excellence,” he said in a message on November 1.

The month-long campaign is celebrated every year in November to reinforce the principles of maintaining high quality deliverables across various systems and processes. The purpose is to raise awareness for the need of continuous improvement and celebrate contributions made by individual and teams towards performance excellence.
