Team News Riveting
Even as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is set to play the opening match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, it is finding a tough wicket to play on.
Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh today pulled out of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The former Indian off spinner had twice postponed his trip to Dubai and was reluctant to join the team amid Covid-19.
Though Singh had cited “personal reasons”, it is learnt that he was confused to play in the pandemic. This was the reason why he failed to make a decision whether to join the team.
He became the second CSK player to withdraw his name from this year’s IPL. While Raina had returned home after traveling with the team to the UAE, Harbhajan had remained in India.
Harbhajan Singh conveyed his decision to the CSK management on Friday. CSK management will now have to look for replacement for the veteran off-spinner.
Amid the news of Bhajji’s pull out the good news for the CSK fans is that the team underwent a Covid-19 test on Thursday morning and all have been tested negative. The players in quarantine can now begin practice.
