Jaipur, November 21

In the much-awaited Cabinet reshuffle in Rajasthan, 15 Ministers took oath on Sunday to constitute Ashok Gehlot ministry.

The ceremony held at Raj Bhawan lasted for about 30 minutes. Governor Kalraj Mishra administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Cabinet members.

Five ministers owing allegiance to Sachin Pilot have been inducted, ostensibly to balance the power equations in the state. The Pilot camp had been desperately demanding the reshuffle and even raised a revolt against Ashok Gehlot.  It could be pacified with the intervention of the party high command.

The 11 cabinet ministers include three – Mamta Bhupesh, Bhajan Lal Jatav and Tikaram Jully – who have been elevated from minister of state (MoS) to cabinet rank, while two – Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena – are those who were sacked last year for rebelling and have been re-inducted as cabinet ministers.

The Sachin Pilot camp has bagged three Cabinet and MoS berths that is largely seen as a balancing act to combat the groupism simmering in the Rajasthan Congress.
