Trudging down the road marked by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s strong message of “Ladki hu lad sakti hu”, Congress MLA Chhanni Chandu Sahu on Tuesday came out on the streets of Chhuria in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district to fight against injustice.

Chhanni, who represents Khujji assembly constituency, marched out a mammoth Hunkaar rally and lodged vehement protest against the local administration. The ruling party lawmaker made it clear that her fight was not against the government but was aimed at the administration.

“Three years had passed after the Congress came to power in Chhattisgarh, the bureaucrats and administration were still behaving the same way they were three years ago,” she fumed. People of Khujji are aware of what is going on in the administration, she said, adding that the Congress workers are still being targeted and ignored.

Expressing her gratitude towards Congress party for elevating her to the post of MLA, Chhanni said she was least bothered about her political fate and would continue to fight for the people of Khujji right from streets to the assembly. The respect and honour of people are foremost for her no matter if she is a woman, the Khujji MLA said.

Chhanni added that her leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has boosted the morale of women by giving the slogan “Ladki hu lad sakti hu” and she has been following her path.

Recently, the local police have registered an offense under atrocities act against MLA’s husband on the complaint of a driver reportedly involved in the illegal transportation of sand. Chhanni has been raising the issue related to the activities of the sand mafia and the illegal trade of minerals in the district.
