Raipur, January 24
Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), an arm of state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has set an all-time high in saleable steel production on 23rd January 2022.
The Plant recorded best ever production of 19,920 Tonnes of Saleable Steel on 23rd January 22, surpassing the previous best record of 19,404 T on 30th April 2011. The Plant’s Finishing Mills combined to produce 12,510 Tonnes of finished steel on 23rd Jan 22. Rail & Strl Mill and Universal Rail Mill recorded finished rail production of 1794 T and 2449 T, respectively.
Merchant Mill produced 1571 T of Angle 50 structurals while Wire Rod Mill produced 1410 T of plain wire rods. Bar & Rod Mill recorded production of 2138 T of TMT bars of 10 mm while Plate Mill produced 3156 T of finished Plates.
Semis production on 23rd Jan 22 included 4456 T of slabs produced by Steel Melting Shop 2, and 2284 T of blooms & 670 T of billets produced by SMS 3.
