The Maoists violence in protest against the arrest of its top leader Prashant Bose continued unabated as the rebels unleased terror on tracks and blew up a portion of rail disrupting services on the busiest Howrah-Delhi route.
The incident took place in Jharkhand’s Giridih district. Armed Maoists in the early hours of Thursday blew up rail track between Chichaki and Chaudharybandh stations. According to Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials, train services on the Howrah-New Delhi route were disrupted for over six hours following the incident. Several trains on the route were diverted, they added.

Earlier, Maoists blew up a bridge by detonating explosive Saturday night in the same district where they had also damaged a mobile tower.
