Puri, February 17

The devotees coming for the darshan of Lord Jagannath will not be required to produce the COVID vaccination or test report from February 21 onwards.

The decision was taken at the meeting between the Chhatisha Nijog and the Niti Sub-Committee of Shree Jagannath Temple held here on Thursday to decide the fresh directives related to the darshan at the historic shrine.

Chief Administrator, SJTA, Dr Krishan Kumar chaired the meeting. It was announced that from February 21 onwards, devotees would not require to produce vaccination certificate or RTPCR report for entry in the temple.

Public darshan would be permitted from 6 am to 9 pm amid strict enforcement of COVID appropriate behaviour. The temple will however remain close for public darshan on all Sundays for sanitisation.

A detailed guideline would be issued soon, the SJTA said.
