Raipur, February 18

Chhattisgarh government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Raipur-based firm to produce organic Gulal (coloured powder) and puja items.

The deal was inked between Director Horticulture and Farm Forestry and Shri Ganesh Global Private Limited, a Raipur-based firm established in the year 1974 and is recognized as the pioneering manufacturer, supplier & exporter firm of best quality Herbal Gulal Products. The company claims its products are 100 per cent herbal, skin safe, eco-friendly and rich in colour, aroma and texture.

Under the agreement, the company will produce organic Gulal and puja items in 10 Gauthans (cow sheds) across the two districts of Raipur and Durg in the first phase. The 150 women self-help groups (SHGs) of both the districts have been linked with the project.

The SHGs will prepare items like sandalwood powder, cotton wicks, kumkum, roli, havan etc along with organic Gulal.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who was present at the MoU signing ceremony, launched the integrated brand name ‘Arth’—different types of organic products made by women self-help groups in Gauthans of the state. Along with this, gift hampers of products made by women self-help groups under the brand name “Arth” will be available for sale in the market.
