RJP President Lalu Prasad is in a hospital hitch as authorities are in a fix to find a “suitable” centre where the former Union Minister can be treated.
The former Bihar Chief Minister was on February 22 sentenced to five years in prison and slapped a fine of Rs 60 lakh by a special CBI court in Ranchi in connection with the fifth fodder scam case involving embezzlement of over Rs 139 crore by Doranda treasury. He was shifted from jail to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on health grounds.
As his health condition deteriorated, Lalu Prasad was shifted from Ranchi to AIIMS, New Delhi on Tuesday evening. He was admitted to the emergency ward where a team of five doctors examined him and discharged him stating that his ailment could be treated in Ranchi. The AIIMS doctors also pointed to the figure on the medical report of RIMS medical board.
Following the medical report, Lalu Prasad was asked to return to Ranchi on Wednesday morning. Three doctors along with nine police men, two servants and Lalu’s daughter and Member of Parliament Misa Bharti were supposed to accompany Lalu in the air ambulance for Ranchi.
When they reached Indira Gandhi International Airport, Lalu’s health condition worsened as doctors found his blood pressure level too low and found him unfit for air travel.
Lalu was again rushed to the AIIMS where doctors were examining his health condition.
