Vishal Dhakad of Guna district in Madhya Pradesh has scripted his name in the history securing AIR-39 in the civil services 2021 exam.
Vishal’s father Kamarlal Dhakad is a general motor mechanic and has been doing winding work. Now, he is a proud father of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Given the ranking, he would be eligible to get the elite IAS cadre.
Kamarlal Dhakad, who runs a motor binding shop, has always been supportive with his limited resources to make his children’s future strong. Vishal wanted to become a doctor and opted for biology in class 11. His elder sister also wanted to become a doctor but she was not selected for the MBBS despite her hard efforts.
The development changed Vishal’s mind and he decided to prepare for the competition exam. Even after scoring 92 per cent in class 12, he took admission for Bachelor of Arts degree from Delhi University. He topped the entrance test for Master of Arts that facilitated him to get a room in the government hostel.
As he got the chance, he dedicated himself to prepare for the prestigious UPSC. In the first attempt, Vishal secured AIR-569 that made him conclude that he was going in the right direction. In the second attempt, he jumped from 569 to AIR-39.
