Militants kill bank manager in South Kashmir

Two days after targeting a Hindu school teacher, militants on Thursday shot dead a bank manager from Rajasthan in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The victim has been identified as Vijay Kumar, a resident of Hanumangarh in Rajasthan. He was posted as bank manager in the Elaqahi Dehati Bank, Branch of Kulgam.

The Kashmir Zone police said in a tweet that terrorists fired upon a bank employee (manager) at Ellaqie Dehati Bank at Areh Mohanpora in Kulgam district. “He received grievous gunshot injuries in this terror incident. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” the police said.

The bank manager was immediately shifted to nearby hospital in a critical condition. The doctors, however, pronounced him brought dead.

The incident took place just two days after militants killed a school teacher in Gopalpora area of the same district. The teacher, Rajni Bala, was a resident of Samba of Jammu division and was working as teacher in the South Kashmir.
