Jharkhand has secured the first position in the Delta Ranking for the month of June released by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India under the Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM).
The objective of Rurban Yojana is to focus on all round development of the region. The emphasis is on economic development and value creation, increasing ENT and basic services as well as construction of wells for irrigation facilities.
Amidst the COVID induced global pandemic, the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand is moving forward with the mantra of “Jeevika Bhi, Jeevan Bhi”. Under the programme, initiatives have been taken to strengthen the rural economy and provide employment to the villagers. The Rurban scheme is playing an effective role in this connection.
Jharkhand has also improved the overall ranking, scaling up to the eighth position. In June, there has been a positive change in the rank of Jharkhand due to the continuous improvement in each of the areas.
Dr. Manish Ranjan, Secretary, Rural Development Department, Government of Jharkhand, said that the works were expedited continuously under the Rurban Mission and regular review of the progress of work was being done at the state level. The Secretary had directed the officers of the districts concerned to focus on development-oriented works with greater urgency for the development of the state. The department has been successful in implementing the schemes under the Rurban Mission in the rural areas of Jharkhand.
The Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, has released the Delta Ranking for the month of June. Jharkhand ranks first across the country in the Delta ranking followed by Puducherry and Assam.
