Raipur, July 15
Chhattisgarh State Audit has appointed 65 auditors in what can be termed as a biggest recruitment drive in the department that has pivotal role to play in the financial activities and record keeping process of state financial business.
The development is seen as a big leap forward of the Chhattisgarh government led by Bhupesh Baghel in eradicating unemployment. The Chief Minister has been focussing on generating jobs and filling the vacant posts to bestow opportunities to the unemployed youths. The efforts are yielding the results.
Under the drive, the state public service commission conducted the exam in January 2022 and the results were out on March 17, 2022. Within four months of the announcement of results, the state audit department completed all the official formalities and issued the appointment order.
The Director of Chhattisgarh State Audit, Anurag Pandey (IAS) informed that appointment orders for 55 Assistant Auditors were issued today while the orders for 11 junior auditors were issued on July 5. The newly appointed employees have been asked to join within one month of getting the order, Pandey said.
Unlike mass employers like police or forest forces, state audits are not a huge set up. Hence, the appointment of 65 auditors is seen as a major recruitment process in the department that was completed in the record time.
The appointment of 65 auditors is also crucial as it will give edge to the Chhattisgarh government’s initiative of good and transparent governance. The auditors act as a watchdog, auditing the receipts and expenditure of all bodies and authorities substantially financed from the state revenues.
