Preparatory meeting for the upcoming 25th Vedvyas Sangeet Nrutyotsav, organised under the aegis of Bhanja Kala Kendra, one of the leading cultural institutions of Odisha, was organised on Sunday at the institution.
Subha Shankar Raychowdhury, the New President of Bhanja Kala Kendra and CGM, Raw Materials Handling Plant of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant presided over the meeting. It was attended by P K Mohanty, the outgoing President, Radha Krushna Mohapatra, General Secretary, Amar Behera, former General Secretary, Suman Dutta, Social Activist, the office bearers, teachers and students of Bhanja Kala Kendra.
Many key decisions were taken to make the Silver Jubilee edition of the festival memorable. Deliberations were also made on how to further propagate the festival which finds place in the cultural calendar of the country and attract tourists to the New Smart City known for its clean and green ambience.
A Odissi Champu Workshop organised by the Kendra also concluded on the occasion with presentation of mesmerizing Odissi Vocal recitals by Guru Binapani Rath and the students of Bhanja Kala Kendra.
It is noteworthy that the five day long Mega Classical Dance & Classical Music Carnival begins on 1st November every year. It attracts a galaxy of exponents from across the country.
