Coal India Ltd (CIL) Chairman Pramod Agarwal on Wednesday chaired a review meeting to assess the production performance of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL).
The meeting was held at CCL Headquarters in Darbhanga House. The state-run CIL has set a target to produce 1 billion tonnes (BT) of coal in the financial year 2023-24. Thirteen mines of CCL have been identified for contribution in the ambitious projection of 1 BT plan of CIL.
Agarwal took stock of progress in each of the 13 open-cast mines, which are spread out in eight districts of Jharkhand. Magadh, Amprapali, Karo, Konar, Rohini, Kerketta, Kotre Basantpur, Chandragupta, North Urimari, Rajrappa, Tapin, KDH Open-cast, Sanghimitra and Pundi are 13 mines which are clubbed under 1 BT plan of CIL.
Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of CCL P M Prasad explained present status of 13 mines and its status related to environment clearance, forest clearance, authentication of land etc through power plantations. He also informed that the company is supplying coal to power plants situated in various part of the country and stepped up its production.
CMD, CMPDIL Manoj Kumar, Director (Tech/Operations) R B Prasad, Director Technical (P&P) S K Gomasta, Director (Personnel) P V K R Mallikarjuna Rao, Technical Secretary to CIL Chairman, M K Singh, TS to CMD, CCL Alok Kumar Singh, GMs of various departments attended the meeting.
In the previous fiscal 2021-22, CCL has produced all time high coal production of 68.85 million tonnes since its inception.
