Chhattisgarh: CRPF jawan martyred in Maoist blast

A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was martyred in a blast triggered by the Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday.

The jawan has been identified as Satpal Singh, a resident of Haryana state.

According to senior police officials, a team of para-military force was on an area domination operation in Pamed region. The rebels detonated an improvised explosive devise (IED) near Chintavagu river adjoining Dharmaram.

Satpal Singh died on the spot. However, the details of injured, if any, were awaited.
