The Universal Rail Mill (URM) of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), an entity of the state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has made records on two production parameters on Thursday.
The company spokesperson said first one by inspecting 180 nos. of 260m welded panels surpassing previous best of 170 panels that was inspected on November 1, 2022. At the same time the SHOP has made a record as regards to inspection of welded joints. 245 nos. of joints were inspected ok surpassing the previous best of 227 on November 2, 2022.
With all these inspection records the plant has assured a production of one rake per shift that is to be dispatched to Indian Railways. This was possible due to continuous effort made by URM, RCL and other associated departments engaged for rail production at URM.
Director-in-Change of the SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant Anirban Dasgupta congratulated the team on this achievement. Anjani Kumar, ED (W) of BSP also congratulated the URM and other associated agencies for this excellent performance.
Anish Sengupta, CGM (URM) gave credits to his team and other associated departments for the splendid achievement. He also thanked the inspecting agency RITES for the feat.
