Over a dozen people were crushed to death by a speedy truck at a Nayaganj on Hajipur-Mahnar highway in Bihar on Sunday night.
The incident took place at 9.30 pm today. The accident site is 25 km north from Patna.
Death toll may rise, eye witnesses apprehend. They said truck missed the highway and rammed into a roadside temple, where hundreds of people had assembled for pre-wedding rituals.
Police said bodies of six women and two children have been found. Driver lost control over the steering and crashed into the temple.
The injured have been taken to nearby government hospitals.
