Mining major National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) produced 3.61 million tonnes (MT) and sold 3.04 MT in November 2022.
The iron ore production was 8.08 per cent higher than the 3.34 MT produced in November 2021. The sales also surged 5.56 per cent during the period compared to previous year.
NMDC’s cumulative production upto November 2022 stood at 23.32 MT, a 4.3 per cent decline from the cumulative production of 24.37 MT reported during the corresponding period of previous year. The largest iron ore producer of India sold 22.49 MT.
The company has set a target of 46 MT of iron ore production in the current fiscal. It will be investing Rs 900 crore over a period of two to three years to increase production to 10 MTPA from 7 MTPA at the Kumaraswamy Mines in Karnataka.
