Chairman of Coal India Limited (CIL) Pramod Agrawal held a review meeting at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) headquarters in Ranchi to assess the performance of the Jharkhand-based subsidiary of the state-run miner.
Besides Chairman-cum-Managing Director of CCL P M Prasad, Director (Operation) R B Prasad, Director (P&P) B Sairam, Director (Finance) P K Mishra, Director (Personnel) H N Mishra were present in the meeting. CMD, CMPDI Manoj Kumar and senior management of CMPDI also attended the meeting.
Agrawal reviewed the performance of the company and gave necessary instructions to increase the production. He expressed confidence that the company will attain the desired production target in the current Financial Year.
Prasad explained the present status of coal production in mining areas through a power point presentation. In the previous fiscal 2021-22, CCL has produced all time high coal production of 68.85 million tonnes (MT) since its inception in 1975. In ongoing fiscal 2022-23, CCL has target of 76 MT of coal production.
In November, CCL produced 6.5 MT of coal, an increase of 13.5 per cent compared to 5.7 MT of previous year’s corresponding period. The company cumulative production in the current fiscal till November also surged by 15.8 per cent to 42.1 MT compared to the production recorded in the same period of previous year.
