High speed Caster 6 in SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Steel Melting Shop 2 smashed all its records made recently and set a new high with 52 heats in longest ever sequence in single tundish on Sunday.
The total caster running time in single sequence was 34 hours. This new high was against previous best of 47 heats with caster running time of 32 hours recorded on 12th Jan 2023.
It is worth mentioning that such record number of heats have been achieved as against tundish guaranteed life of 17 heats. The record performances have been made possible by Caster 6 Team through high levels of operational efficiency.
The entire Caster 6 Team led by Alok Mathur, GM (Operation) and well supported by Yogesh Shastri GM (Mechanica), Saurav Jain, GM (Electrical), Madhu Pillai, GM (Instrumentation) was congratulated by ED (Works) Anjani Kumar, CGM, SMS 2, SK Ghoshal and other senior officers of the Plant for setting a new benchmark.
Caster No 6 of SMS 2 had earlier recorded 45 heats on 6th Jan 23, 44 heats on 4th January 23, 42 heats on 1st Jan 23, 41 heart on 30th Dec 22, 40 heats on 16th Dec 22, 36 heats on 10th Dec 22 and 35 heats achieved on 6th December 2022.
