Chhattisgarh’s renowned writer, critic, translator and editor Dr Sushil Trivedi was conferred with the Doctor of Philosophy (D Phil) Honoris Causa by Amity University in Raipur.

The Amity University honored Dr. Sushil Trivedi for his outstanding contribution in the field of mass communication, extraordinary vision in the chase of excellence, for the dissemination of knowledge, unflinching commitment, efficiency, philanthropic zeal, and social enterprise for the benefit of humanity. He was awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Philosophy for dedicated inspirational leadership.

In the citation, Dr. Trivedi has been recognised as an icon of all-round success and an extraordinary figure who can beat all the odds. Dr Trivedi, who has been a consistently excellent student during his studies, has excelled in Hindi literature. He obtained a Ph.D. degree. He created a niche for himself with his administrative skill while discharging his duties as a prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.

Even after retirement from the IAS, Dr Trivedi continued to render his services in the important position as State Election Commissioner and member of the All-India Delimitation Commission besides Chhattisgarh State Gazetteer Preparation Committee. He has contributed to literature, culture and folk art. He has composed, edited and circulated more than 40 original texts on mass communication.

It is worth mentioning that he is the editor of ‘Chhattisgarh Mitra’, India’s most historically important literary magazine. Dr Trivedi is also acting Chairman of Pt. Madhavrao Sapre Literature Research Centre.

Dr Trivedi has bagged the award from Government of India for public welfare in 1995. The Defense Ministry of India published ‘Military History of India’ for which he was awarded in 1987. The award was presented by the then Defense Minister K C Pant. In the same year, the then Vice President of India, Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma facilitated him. Dr Trivedi also received facilitation from President of India R Venkataraman.
