NMDC production slightly up in February

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited has reported a slight increase in the iron ore production in February.

The output last month went up by 3.94 per cent to 4.48 million tonnes (MT) against 4.31 MT produced during the corresponding period of last month. The production has increased by 6.67 per cent compared to the output of January 2023.

The sales however remained sluggish as it went down by 4.79 per cent to 3.78 MT in February compared to previous year’s 3.97 MT. The cumulative production and sales of the NMDC upto February reported a fall of 4.2 per cent and 8.61 per cent respectively.

The national miner had registered its best ever quarter production with 10.66 million tonnes (MT) output in the third quarter (Q3) of the current financial year (FY23) ended December 31, 2022.

NMDC reported a turnover of Rs 11,816 crore for the first nine months of the current fiscal. Company’s Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the nine months is Rs 4351 crore and Profit After Tax (PAT) for the nine months is Rs 3252 crore.
