NTPC Lara’s succour for schools in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh

The Lara station of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district had provided financial aid to the district administration for strengthening school infrastructure.  

The leading power producer that operates a mega project in Lara of Raigarh district handed over a cheque of first instalment of Rs 6.35 crore as financial assistance for the development of infrastructure of Swamy Atmanand School in Raigarh district under community development initiative.

Executive Director of NTPC Lara Diwakar Kaushik handed over the cheque to Taran Prakash Sinha, IAS, Collector, Raigarh on Friday. NTPC will be providing Rs 15 crore for the renovation of all Atmanand schools in Raigarh district, the company officials said.

Atmanand school is the flagship education programme of the Chhattisgarh government to provide quality education to the children. NTPC Lara has been taking various initiatives for the development of education in Chhattisgarh.

The big-ticket works include construction of IIIT at Raipur, development of Raigarh medical college and Kirodimal Institute of Technology in Raigarh.

 Kanheya Das, AGM (HR) and Rajendra Kumar Behera, DGM (R&R) was present on the occasion.
