The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today struck at the residence of Rabri Devi on Monday and quizzed the former Bihar Chief Minister in connection with land for job scam.
She is one of 16 accused in the land for job scam that reportedly took place during her husband Lalu Prasad’s tenure as Railways Minister. The CBI, which is probing the case, today morning reached her 10, Circular Road residence and questioned for over four hours. Rabri Devi is one of the beneficiaries of the alleged scam.
While she was being questioned (according to the CBI) on the day and time given by her today, RJD leaders gheraoed her bungalow and shouted slogans like CBI Go Back. The central agency will question the RJD President ,Lalu Prasad, her MP daughter Misa Bharti, both named accused on Tuesday in New Delhi.
An agitated Rabri Devi told media persons, “Nothing found. Their visit is routine”. Deputy Chief Minister and her younger son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav reacted by saying, “Now, it is a routine, they visit us every two months. I have even suggested them to open their office in my residence.”
Tejashwi, who is also one of the accused in another recruitment scam in Railways claimed, “Where is so called land for job scam? Railway Board has not found anything wrong. We are relaxed”.
Officer on Special Duty in the then Railway ministry Bhola Yadav was arrested in October last year in the case along with two other employees of the Railways. The CBI court has summoned the then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, daughters Misa and Rohini and 12 others on March 15 as charge sheet has been submitted in the court. CBI had registered FIR in May, 2022.
Tejashwi was one of the eight opposition leaders who wrote protest letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday alleging misuse of central agencies against opposition leaders.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi who had held 101 press conference without interruption in 2016-17 with documents alleging corruption and criminal conspiracy by Lalu family, today claimed the CBI had started investigations against Lalu Yadav on a complaint filed by the then JDU National President Sharad Yadav to the then Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh. Lalu was Railway minister in 2004-2009 in first term of UPA government.
