Former Union Minister of State Upendra Kushwaha, who had deserted JDU last month, has been provided “Y” Plus security cover by the union home ministry.
Officials of CRPF reached residence of Kushwaha and took over security arrangements. Kushwaha is currently on state wide Jagran Yatra. He had resigned from the state legislative council and also office of chairman of Central parliamentary board.
Earlier, Mukesh Sahni, President of Vikassheel Insaan Party, a part of NDA in Bihar, was also given “Y” Plus security cover. He was animal husbandry minister in Nitish Kumar cabinet.
Chirag Paswan, member of Lok Sabha from Jamui and president of LJP (Ramvilas), was put under the top Z plus category.
Sanjay Jaiswal, President of BJP on Thursday claimed ministry of home affairs enhanced security cover of the leaders opposed to Nitish Kumar on the basis of reports sent by intelligence bureau. He said the RJD leader and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav was given security cover available to a Chief Minister.
Abdul Bari Sidiqqi, Principal Secretary General of RJD, commented, “We do not understand logic of MHA standards on security cover to opposition leader. It is bribe.”
