Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited, an arm of Madhya Pradesh-based Som Group, has started the trial production at the newly expanded canning facility at the Bhopal plant.
“We are happy to announce that we have commenced trial production at the newly expanded canning facility at the Bhopal Plant of our company,” the company said in a regulatory filing today. The equipment for the plant has been supplied by top-of-the-line European and Indian suppliers. This facility shall help us in supplying high quality beer cans for all our brands across the markets we operate, it added.
With the increased capacity, the company is hopeful of gaining additional market share for its brand. “We expect the commercial production to start within the next fortnight,” the company said.
At the meeting held on December 9, 2022, the Board of Som Distilleries and Breweries reviewed and noted that the Company is executing an expansion plan of approximately Rs 100 crore for setting up a new canning facility and other utilities at the Bhopal Plant of the Company and expanding the Brewing Facility in Hasan Plant of its WOS i.e. Woodpecker Distilleries and Breweries Private Limited. The company expects to complete the expansion in time so as to prepare for the summer season.
