The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has lauded the 100 per cent electrification of Railways in Bilaspur Division, Raipur Division, Sambalpur Division, Nagpur Division and Waltair Division of Chhattisgarh state.
Responding to the tweet by Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Prime Minister tweeted; “The Railways sector continues to surge ahead! Great news for Chhattisgarh.”

Chhattisgarh, which houses South East Central Railways (SECR) Zonal office in Bilaspur, has five railway divisions under its geographical limits.
Now, SECR would also be included among the completely electrification Zones of the Indian Railways. With the completion of electrification of the Subhagpur-Pachperwa Broad Gauge (BG) route in North Eastern Railway last month, Indian Railways has completed the electrification of all BG routes in Uttar Pradesh.
With its achievement, Indian Railways has completed electrification of BG routes in six zonal railways namely, East Coast Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway, West Central Railway. SECR now adds to the league.
With 85 per cent of RKM (route kilometer) electrified, Indian Railways is rapidly progressing to accomplish “Mission 100 Percent Electrification” by 2030 and become the largest green railway network in the world.
