Forest and Environment Minister Tejpratap Yadav, elder son of RJD president, Tejpratap Yadav had to face an embarrassing situation in Banaras when he was evicted from his hotel room late Friday night.
According to the officer in charge of Songra police station, Raju Singh, Tejpratap had booked two rooms in a hotel. His personal assistant Pradip Rai in a complaint to the police alleged two rooms–one for the minister and another for security staff–were booked in the hotel. Minister had gone to visit Assi Ghat on the banks of Ganga.
When he returned, he found his luggage kept in the reception. In his absence, hotel manager had entered the two rooms and removed luggage. Police officer said an investigation has been started in the complaint of the staff of the minister. For security reasons, room of the minister should not have been encroached by the hotel management, he said.
Hotel management told over phone that the minister had come to the hotel on night of April 6. His booking was till April 7 at 12 noon. But the minister returned quite late on Friday. By that time, room was already allotted and occupied by another guest. The minister did not pay the room bills, hotel management claimed.
Former deputy chief minister and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi alleged Tejpratap had overstayed, did not pay the required rent. He was rude to the hotel staff, Modi said
According to Modi, Tejpratap tarnished the image of Bihar in the religious city of Banaras.
