About 200 students of Bihar enrolled in different higher educational institutions in violence hit Manipur will be brought here from Imphal airport on Tuesday morning.

Expenses for the special Indigo flight will be borne by the state government.

Chief Secretary Amir Subhani talked to his Manipur counterpart and sought help of the Manipur government to arrange special buses for the Bihari students from different hostels of IIT, NIT and Central Agriculture University to Manipur Airport.

A special Indigo flight will leave Imphal airport at 6 am and reach Patna at 7.35 am.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has asked the Resident Commissioner of Bihar in New Delhi to coordinate with the Manipur government and airlines. He assured parents, all expenses to bring Bihari students back to Patna will be borne by the state government.

There are 300 students from Bihar in Manipur. Some of them returned during curfew relaxation on their own expenses.

They said the airfare between Imphal and Kolkata was about Rs 25,000. A girl student who reached here on Monday morning said hostels were without food materials as curfew prolonged. She said many students were still holed up in the hostels and teachings were suspended.
