Chhattisgarh: HNLU bags Intellectual Property Chair

Hidayatullah National Law University has got the Intellectual Property Chair of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP)) under the Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education Academia (SPRIHA).

As per the norms of the establishment of the Chair, there will be funding for appointing professor, research associates and sponsoring PhD candidates in IPR.  The funding norms will also mandate conducting workshops, training programs on IPR to other institutions and various stake holders at large. The SPRIHA also mandates offering of UG/PG/Diploma and Certificate courses in IPR and also allows internship of students at IP offices in India.

Prof. V C Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor of HNLU said, “This is the first Chair established at HNLU and will cohabit with the Centre for Innovation and Intellectual Property Laws (CIIPL) of the School for Technology and Law (SLT) established under the Research -HuB and Spoke division of HNLU. We will soon announce the various mandated programmes in Chhattisgarh which is already a well-established techno-management- medical education capital with AIIMS, IIT, IIIT, NIT and IIM apart from established traditional and private universities in the state.”

This pioneering initiative aims to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and research in the field of IP laws and interface with Science, Technology and Management. HNLU will be appointing a Chair Professor and Research Associates under this scheme apart from funded Research Scholars as per mandate of the Chair.
