The Chhattisgarh government has decided to implement the ambitious Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana in all the 44 municipalities across the state.

The scheme, which facilitates citizens to get important documents at their doorstep, was confined to the 14 Municipal Corporation. “Keeping in view the convenience of the common citizens, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken a big decision to implement the popular ‘Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana’ in all the 44 municipalities of the state,” state government spokesperson said.

The response from the citizens had been encouraging while its popularity could be gauged from the fact that 96,258 people had availed the services under the scheme that had been implemented from May 1, 2022. The move on the initiative of the Chief Minister prevents citizens from visiting Municipal Corporation, Tehsil and other government offices to get necessary certificates and official documents.

As of now, 01 lakh 13 thousand 234 citizens have dialed on the toll-free number 14545 to get processed the government documents. With the implementation of the scheme, senior citizens, Divyangjan, laborers, farmers, women and common citizens could heave a sigh of relief. The documents made available include birth certificate, ration card, native resident certificate, scheduled caste tribe certificate, other backward class certificate, income certificate, copy of land record, death certificate, marriage registration certificate, birth certificate, besides correction in the birth certificate and shop and establishment registration.

Similarly, correction can be made in the death certificate, marriage certificate, Aadhaar card registration, (for children up to 5 years) Aadhaar card address and mobile number besides processing new ration card, ration card transfer and surrender, ration card correction, new facility of ration card for APL, ration card missing case, name addition and deletion in ration card, new BPL ration card.

On receiving the call on the number, the centre would fix an appointment date for the Mitan (friend in Chhattisgarh dialect) to reach at the door step of the applicant. The Mitan would verify the required documents and upload them on the portal. The verified documents would be sent online to the departments concerned that would conduct the final scrutiny and issue the sought document.

For the service, the applicant had to pay a very nominal charge. Once the certificate is issued, the Mitan would drop it at the residence of the applicant.
