Chhattisgarh: Sarva Aastha Manch stages protest against violence in Manipur, Haryana

Representatives from different communities and religious leaders under the banner of Sarva Aastha Manch staged a protest in the capital on Sunday against the violence erupted in Manipur and Haryana governments.

The event was organised in front of the statue of Constitution founder Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. The participants urged central and respective state governments to follow the Raj Dharma and give justice to the violence victims.  They also prayed for the eternal peace of the dead and paid homage.

A delegation later met Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and handed over the memorandum addressed to the President of India. The President of the Manch and Most Archbishop Victor Henry Thakur, CNI Bishop The Right Reverend Ajay Umesh James, Secretary Nitin Lawrence, Vice President of the Manch and representative of Sikh community Sardar Manmohan Sailani and Advocate Faisal Rizvi from Muslim community, painter Nisar Ali and Mr. Hussaini, Manch Spokesperson and Jain Samaj representative Premshankar Gautia, General Secretary Father Sebastian P, Sister Deepika, Ruchi Dharmaraj, Mary also addressed the gathering.

Many social workers, religious leaders, religious sisters, pastors, fathers, citizens who support the peace and development of the state and the country participated. Moderated by John Rajesh Paul.

Archbishop Victor Henry Thakur said that the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was a priest of non-violence and love. The people of Chhattisgarh also believe in following the same path. He said protection should be given to the victims in Nuh of Haryana and Manipur, and work should be done for their good. Our national unity should be kept intact. “It seems that the incidents in Manipur are sponsored,” the archbishop said.

CNI’s Bishop Ajay Umesh James said that the citizens of the country were in favor of protecting democracy. He said that the suffering of the people of Manipur cannot be expressed in words. “We all have an obligation to stop the violation of our constitutional rights. Raise your voice against it,” he added.
