SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant ends August with record breaking performances

SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has once again achieved stellar performance in the month of August and set a flurry of new records in all major parameters, at all respective departments, surpassing previous Best figures by good margins.

A statement issued by the BSP said with the collaborative work culture and industrial harmony, the spirited Bhilai Steel Plant Collective put up a sterling performance as a result of which the Plant could achieve several best ever performance records consecutively. 

Best ever Monthly pushing records by CO&CCD

Plant’s Coke Oven and Coal Chemical Department (CO&CCD) has also recorded a best ever pushing record in August 2023 by pushing 826 EQ ovens on 30th August 2023, surpassing the previous best oven pushing record of 825 EQ achieved on 30th April, 2023.

CO and CCD has also crossed the oven pushing mark by pushing 25,000 ovens for the first time in August 2023, against its previous best of pushing 24,986 ovens recorded in May 2023. It is also noteworthy that the average pushing in the month of August 2023 was recorded as 813 EQ Ovens on a daily basis.

Best ever Day Record by Bar & Rod Mill

Bar and Rod Mill team that rolls out TMT Bars achieved an ever best record by rolling out 3,757 Tonnes (1,815 Billets) in the challenging profile of 16 mm TMT bars in a single day on 30th August 2023. The Mill has surpassed all the previous day records of production in this profile.

For this achievement, Anirban Dasgupta Director I/c of the Plant and Anjani Kumar, ED (Works), along with Plant’s other Senior Officers, congratulated the workers and officers of CO & CCD and BRM for the stellar performances and motivated them to work with the same spirit to achieve all the goals of this year and create many more such records. At the same time, they also congratulated the entire BSP collective including T&D, RMD, Services, Blast Furnace, Sinter Plant, Energy Management Department, PPC, Central Mechanical Organisations, MRD, Shop and ancillary departments for their contribution.

Congratulating the entire BRM fraternity on this achievement, HOD Mukesh Gupta, CGM (BRM) said that the feat of substantially increased production was made possible by continuous monitoring and hard-work of the mill personnel and full cooperation of the concerned departments. The General Managers of the department, including S K Behera, K K Thakur, S. Tripathi, Ashish, Shashwat Mahanty, Sameer Pandey, and Shikhar Tiwari, along with other senior officials have also congratulated the BRM Collective on this occasion.

These remarkable achievements were made with collective efforts and coordination of employees in the respective departments working together with utmost dedication with strict adherence to the technical & safety norms and operational efficiency, resulting in improved productivity and breaking of previous records.
