Hyderabad, October 1
Largest Iron Ore Producer of the Country, NMDC organized a Mega Cleanliness Drive at its Head Office, Projects and Regional Offices across the country today on 1st October 2023.
The initiative was carried out under the “Swachhata Hi Seva, Special Campaign 3.0”, being observed by NMDC from 15 September 2023 to 2nd October 2023. As a run-up to Gandhi Jayanti, the Prime Minister appealed for 1 hour of Shramdaan for Swachhata on 1st Oct by all citizens collectively to offer Swachhanjali to Bapu on the eve of his Jayanti.
Paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary through Swachhanjali, the National
miner runs a massive cleanliness drive and Prabhat Pheri at its all major Projects- Kirandul, Bacheli, Donimalai and Panna where each project took responsibility of cleaning one village respectively through Jan bhagidari.
NMDC employees showcased their commitment to cleanliness during the remarkable Cleanliness Drive at NMDC Head Office today. Employees from various Projects and regional offices also took part in the cleanliness activities and contributed to the cause as responsible citizens.
In support of the Prime Minister’s vision of a garbage-free India, NMDC held a painting competition for students under Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign at its Head Office, Hyderabad. The competition aimed to enhance public awareness by engaging young talent. With their originality and innovation, the participants demonstrated their talent and passion to the cause through their artwork.
On the occasion, Satyendar Rai, ED (P&A) said, ‘NMDC is proud to be an active participant of the Swachh Bharat Mission and organizes massive cleanliness and plantation drives at its Head office and Projects periodically. As a responsible miner, we must take charge of cleanliness at our respective places and embrace eco-friendly practices to ensure a green and sustainable future.’
Emphasizing on the need of cleanliness for a cleaner and greener nation, NMDC organized different
cleaning activities at the workplace, awareness programs at offices and schools, and cleanliness
initiatives in public spaces such as townships, marketplaces, bus stops, and other public places.
