Som Distilleries’ profit jumps 43% in first half of fiscal

Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited (SDBL), an entity of Madhya Pradesh-based integrated AlcoBev player Som Group of Companies, today announced the financial results for the first half (1H) and second quarter (Q2) of the current financial year 2023-24 (FY 23-24).

The company reported a profit-after-tax (PAT) for 1H FY 23-24 stood at Rs 48.5 crore against Rs 33.9 crore for the Q2 FY 22-23, a growth of 43 per cent. The Net Sales for 1H FY 23-24 stood at Rs 634.6 crore against Rs 404 crore for the same period last year, registering a growth of 57.1 per cent, the company said in a regulatory filing today.

Profit before tax (PBT) for 1H FY 23-24 stood at Rs 62.0 crore against Rs 38.4 crore for the same period last year, a growth of nearly 62 per cent.

The Q2 FY 2023-24 performance of the company is also encouraging. The Net Sales for Q2 FY 23-24 stood at Rs 248.0 crore against Rs 147.9 crore for the same period last year, a growth of 67.7 per cent. The PBT for Q2 FY 23-24 stood at Rs 19.3 crore against Rs 10.3 crore for the Q2 FY 22-23, a growth of 88 per cent. The PAT for Q2 FY 23-24 stood at Rs 14.9 crore against Rs 8.3 crore for the Q2 FY 22-23, a growth of 80 per cent.
