SAIL-Bhilai plate mill registers historic achievement in slab rolling figures

Plate mill department of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant, in view of the increasing demand for plates in the market, was in full swing preparing to supply plates.

Even amidst the festivals, with the help of its hardworking team, it was rolling more than 400 slabs in a single shift. A historic achievement has been achieved due to this record. The Plate Mill fraternity, with better planning and coordination, successfully rolled 422 slabs in the first shift, breaking its own record of 355 slabs made last year in the second shift on 03 October 2022.

Along with this, breaking its old record of 373 finished plates, it has set a new record by registering a record of finishing 502 plates. In which the highest production of poly was 2613 tonnes. For the first time in its history, the plate mill has crossed the figure of 400 in a single shift.

For this achievement, Anirban Dasgupta, DIC (BSP), congratulated the Plate Mill family as well as all the supporting departments PPC, SMS-2, RCL and EMD. All concerned departments were always available to provide unwavering support to the Plate Mill throughout the process.

Before this, the work of rolling 400 slabs was completed under the guidelines and successful guidance of Anjani Kumar, ED (Works)  to ensure the supply of slabs. Anjani Kumar also heartily congratulated the Plate Mill team, SMS-2, RCL, and EMD and said that in the coming days, the Plate Mill will have to be ready for new heights and records.

After the first shift, Tapas Dasgupta GM I/C (Iron), P K Sarkar GM I/C (Services) and Asit Saha GM I/C (M&U) reached the plate mill, Shift Manager Anjan Chatterjee and all pulpit operators of the brigade. And congratulated the maintenance staff.

R K Bisare, CGM (Plate Mill) remained at the workplace since morning, encouraging his team. Seeing the commitment of his employees and officers of the plate mill fraternity towards production, he ensured that there is no hindrance during rolling. R K Bisare praised the better planning along with the plate mill team and the participation of all the supporting departments in this scheme and appreciated the team.

To ensure a continuous supply of slabs, G V Rao GM (PPC), Yogesh Shastri GM (SMS-2), Alok Mathur GM (SMS-2), Sanjay Deshmukh DGM(SMS-2) and Vipin Kumar GM( RCL) The collective cooperation of them was commendable.

R K Bisare said, Full credit for the record rolling went to Shift Manager-Mr. Anjan Chatterjee, Alok Agarwal, Narendra Bisen, Arun Agarwal, Shift Incharge- Sanjeev Sharma, Pramod Thackeray, Abhinav Sao, Satya Kumar Chaurasia, Gave to Ratnesh Srivastava, Anand Maheshwari. He also appreciated all the control pulpit operators who continuously worked without delay every minute. Completed rolling of one slab.
