Hira Group’s arm commissions captive solar PV plant in Chhattisgarh

Hira Ferro Alloys Limited, a subsidiary company of listed Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) commenced the commercial operations at 22 MWp Captive Solar PV Power Plant at Bemetra in Chhattisgarh.

GPIL is the flagship entity of Hira Group of Industries based out in Chhattisgarh.

“We are pleased to inform you that Hira Ferro Alloys Limited (A Subsidiary Company) has commissioned 22 MWp Captive Solar PV Power Plant, out of the proposed capacity of 55MWp and the same has been duly synchronized with the grid,” GPIL said in a regulatory filing today. The Company had earlier commissioned 30 MWp Solar PV Power Plant on March 29, 2023, the company said, adding that thus out of proposed 55MWp capacity, 52 MWp Solar PV Power Plant has been commissioned till date.

It may be clarified that that the Company had earlier proposed to set up 60 MW Captive Solar PV Power Plant at Bemetra, however the proposed capacity was reduced to 55 MWp and could commission only 52 MWp due to non-availability of contiguous land. The Company is making efforts to purchase the land for balance 8MWp capacity and the same will be installed and commissioned in due course, when land is purchased.

The power generated at said Solar Power Plant will be captively consumed by HFAL. The generation of solar energy will not only support the green initiatives and reduce the carbon foot print, but also help saving in cost of power and overall profitability of the Company.
