IPS officer Myank Srivastava takes over as Commissioner of Chhattisgarh Public Relations

The 2006-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, Myank Srivastava on Thursday took over as the new commissioner of Chhattisgarh Public Relations.

Besides, he will hold the additional charge of Director Public Relations and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Samvad, an arm of the department. The outgoing Public Relations Commissioner Dipanshu Kabra handed over the charge to Srivastava and congratulated him for his new responsibility.

Officials of the Public Relations Directorate and Chhattisgarh Samvad were present on this occasion. He will be the second IPS officer after Deepanshu Kabra to head the Public Relations. Myank has a strong interest in literature and writing. He has scripted many small dramas.

Hailing from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Myank did his Bachelor of Engineering Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology and joined the power major, NTPC. He cracked the prestigious UPSC in 2005 and was selected for the IPS. He was allotted Chhattisgarh cadre.

Besides being ADC to the Governor, he has served as Superintendent of Police (SP) in many important districts. Prior to assuming the new position in the Public Relations, Myank was Director General with the Chhattisgarh Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guards.
