Nripendra P. Rana, a professor from Shubhai Garh village in Hajipur, Vaishali, has earned global recognition in the field of academia.
His research work secured him the 335th position in Research.com’s 2023 Survey of World Scientists in business management, and he also claimed the 102nd spot in the Best Rising Stars of Science category.
Prof. Rana consistently held a position in the top 1% of scientists globally for research impact on the Clarivate Web of Science list from 2020 to 2022, standing alongside 6000-7000 scientists worldwide.
“It’s a great feeling to be acknowledged globally by a renowned international research portal. I’m committed to maintaining my position on this list and improving my rankings,” said Prof. Rana.
With a portfolio of over 350 international research papers, he has served as a Professor of Marketing at Qatar University for the past three years. Additionally, for the last one and a half years, he has taken on the role of Adjunct Professor at Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna (CIMP), contributing to the advancement of the institiute’s research culture alongside the institute’s faculty.
Recently, Prof. Rana’s achievements drew the attention of Queen’s University Belfast in Great Britain, where he has been offered a position as a Professor in Digital Marketing and Systems.
“I genuinely believe that students and educators from Bihar have the potential to achieve their dreams, just like I have. It’s all about staying focused on your goals and aiming high – there’s no rocket science to it.” He added.

Despite a childhood marked by hardships and struggles in an education-lacking environment, Prof. Rana consistently excelled in school in his village. He eventually obtained a B.Sc Honors degree in Mathematics from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. Following this, he earned an MCA degree from Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, and served as a lecturer of Computer Science at Sikkim Manipal University for over five years.
His academic journey continued with an MBA from Swansea University, Great Britain, in 2009, where he received a university scholarship to pursue his Ph.D. in Information Systems. Subsequently, he assumed the role of a lecturer in the Department of Information Systems at the University.
During this period, he published over 150 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He also served for two years as a Professor of Digital Marketing at Bradford University, UK, and obtained the qualification of Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy from Great Britain.
