Chhattisgarh police jawan shoots self dead in Bijapur

Bijapur, August 16

A Chhattisgarh police head constable shot himself dead with his service rifle in Bijapur district on Friday morning.

The jawan, posted in Bhairamgarh police station, has been identified as Sonu Hapka. The incident took place at around 9 am Friday in the police station premises.

The critically injured jawan was immediately rushed to the Bhairamgarh government hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.

Bijapur Superintendent of Police Dr Jitendra Yadav has confirmed the incident. However, the detailed investigation will reveal the exact cause that forced the jawan to take the extreme step.
