The Government of India has sanctioned construction of 846931 pucca houses under the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) in rural areas of Chhattisgarh.
A state government spokesperson said Chhattisgarh today received approval for 8,46,931 houses under the scheme. It includes 6,99,331 houses as per the Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011 list and 1,47,600 houses as per the Awas Plus list.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the approval of a large number of houses. He also thanked Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The Chief Minister said that the approval under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin would play an important role in improving the living standards of the people in the rural areas of Chhattisgarh. Under the scheme, the dream of owning a home will come true for lakhs of families that will bring a sense of stability and security in their lives.
Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is continuously working for the upliftment of the poor and deprived sections. The housing approval received by Chhattisgarh will prove to be a milestone in the development of the state.
