Tata Steel UISL and the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) today inaugurated the “Swachhta Hi Seva 2024” campaign, a nationwide cleanliness initiative aligned with the Centre’s vision.
The campaign aims to enhance cleanliness, sanitation, and sustainability efforts in Jamshedpur. The event was graced by Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, and Krishna Kumar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of JNAC.
On the occasion, Vishwakarma Puja was also celebrated, marking the event as a Zero Waste initiative, which underscores the campaign’s commitment to waste management. Additionally, the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative was launched to encourage tree plantation, further promoting environmental sustainability.
The joint efforts of Tata Steel UISL and JNAC aim to raise community awareness on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, focusing on this year’s theme: “Swabhav Swachhta, Sanskar Swachhta”
The objective of the Swachhta Hi Seva 2024 campaign is to promote the segregation of wet and dry waste, reduce the use of single-use plastics, encourage community participation in cleanliness initiatives, and raise awareness on sanitation and hygiene. Citizens are urged to take the Swachhta Pledge, segregate waste at the source, avoid single-use plastics, plant trees, and actively join community cleanliness drives.
