Former consul to command PK’s Jan Suraj for Bihari Ashmita

Prashant Kishore on Wednesday appointed a retired Dalit diplomat, Manoj Kumar Bharti as first president of the Jan Suraj Party.

Bharti is the 1988 batch officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS).

Addressing a mammoth rally at Veterinary College grounds here, PK—as Prashant is fondly called among followers—said Bharti had served as ambassador in different countries, including Ukraine. The Election Commission of India has sent a letter recognizing Jan Suraj Party as a political party.

Listing the agenda of the newly launched party, he said party is aimed at promoting and preserving Bihari identity (Ashmita). Party would abolish prohibition when it comes to power. Highest allocation would be on education sector.

His party would contest assembly elections in all the 243 constituencies  in the next year. Jan Suraj will contest by-elections in all the four assembly seats scheduled for next month.
