Lucknow/Raipur, October 3
Under the aegis of Central Command and Madhya Bharat Area, a two-day Armed Forces Outreach
Programme is being conducted by Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area in concert with civil
administration starting on October 5 at Science College Ground Raipur.
The primary objective of this outreach programme is to Inspire the youth to join the Indian Army and serve the nation, showcase the Indian Army’s prowess and capabilities, foster nationalism and patriotism amongst the people and strengthen civil- military relations.
The two-day event will witness an array of spectacular displays and thrilling performances,
including para jump by elite special forces commandoes and slithering demonstrations, bike
show and equestrian display. Modern weaponry & equipment, including T-90 Bhishma tank,
BMP II infantry combat vehicle, Strella 10M army air defence missile system, ZU 23 Gun and
105 MM Light Field Gun of Artillery will also be displayed for public viewing from 9 am to 4 pm
on both days.
The event will also have mesmerizing performances by military pipe and brass bands from
Grenadiers, Signals and Gorkha Training Centres and Khukri dance by cultural troupe from the
elite Gorkha Regiment. Information centres are also being established during the event by Army
Recruiting Office Raipur and NCC Group Headquarters Chhattisgarh for the benefit of youth
aspiring to join the Armed Forces.
The event will be attended by senior Political dignitaries from the State Government and civil
administration. Senior military dignitaries from Madhya Bharat Area and Central Command will
also be in attendance. Over three hundred Indian Army personnel from various units and
formations are participating in the event to showcase the might & prowess of the Indian Army.
The event has generated great interest and buzz in the entire State and is likely to attract
thousands of viewers.
