Achieving a major milestone towards SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s modernization and expansion program, the Stove Heating of Blast Furnace No. 6 has been done successfully on 10th October 2024, after extensive Capital Repair.
With the lighting up of stoves 18, and 20 by Tapas Dasgupta, CGM I/c (Iron) in the presence of Manoj Kumar, CGM (Blast Furnaces), along with other senior officers and personnel of Blast Furnaces, RED, PLEM, and various other departments, the process of heating of stoves has begun, marking the beginning of the furnace production joining process.
Tapas Dasgupta congratulated the BF Collective and the agencies involved in repair work.
After being shut down on August 18, 2024, for extensive capital repair, Blast Furnace-6 at the Plant is nearing the completion of its capital repair activity. As part of the plant’s efforts to meet the hot metal production targets for the 2024-25 Annual Business Plan (ABP), the furnace is set to re-join operations soon.
