Heads of Maintenance Planning (MTP) Meet was held at NTPC Nava Raipur on October 24-25, 2024 wherein Heads of MTP from across the stations of NTPC attended.
Inaugurating the meet, P K Mishra RED (WR-II, USSC and Ash NI) underlined the importance of MTP in overhaul and day to day maintenance. He further emphasized on the role of maintenance planning for enhancing availability and reliability of equipment.
He further asked all to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in resolving O and M issues, safety, structure checking, scrap disposal, vendor payments, and contract closing for reliable and safe operation of plants.
Speaking on the occasion, ED-OS, S K Ghosh stressed on the importance of timely and high-quality overhauls. He also emphasized on the stores management to ensure the availability of materials for maintenance and overhauling and reduction of AFC under recovery.
While addressing the heads of MTP, ED (USSC), U H Gokhe told that MTP plays a vital role in ensuring spare parts availability by effectively monitoring Overhauling Preparedness Index (OPI). It is essential to procure overhaul materials and services a year in advance for timely availability. He also shared that one-store approach will help in inventory control.
On this occasion, a booklet – ‘FAQ for Maintenance Planning’ – was released by RED (WR-II, USSC and Ash NI) and a ‘Maintenance Dashboard’ of MMSD was launched by ED (OS).
The event was marked with Presentation on maintenance perspectives of Boiler, Turbine, Operation, CenPEEP, BOP, Safety, CPG/PPG, inventory control etc. Various issues pertaining to maintenance was discussed in the open house. Station presentation was also made on critical issues related to PM cycles, Critical Spares, TC documents, quality overhauls.
