The significance of Madheshwar hill in President’s picture in Chhattisgarh!

President Droupadi Murmu was on a two-day state visit to Chhattisgarh that ended on Saturday evening.

On the second day of her visit, the President attended the luncheon hosted by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at the Chief Minister’s new residence in Nava Raipur. Murmu joined for a photo session with the family members of the Chief Minister.

What drew attention to the group photo was that the beautiful Madheshwar hill of Jashpur displayed in the backdrop. Located in Kunkuri block of Jashpur district, the mountain is worshiped as the largest Shivling in the world.

The shape of Madheshwar hill, located in Mayali village, 35 km from the tribal-majority Jashpur district headquarters of Chhattisgarh, is shaped like a Shivling. Villagers worship it and it has the distinction of being the world’s largest Shivalinga. Here tourists come from far and wide and connect with nature. Mountaineering is also done on Madheshwar hill. Jashpur district has immense potential for development of adventure sports and tourism.

On October 22, a meeting of the Surguja Region Tribal Development Authority was held at Mayali Nature Camp under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. In which the members of the Authority were also present along with the ministers. Mayali Nature Camp is being developed as a tourist destination. Nestled in the lap of nature, Jashpur is easily attracting people due to its attractive scenery.
