NTPC Raising Day-2024 was celebrated at NTPC Naya Raipur on Thursday with pomp.
Chief Guest of the occasion, P K Mishra, Regional Executive Director (WR-II, USSC and Ash NI) hoisted NTPC Flag, followed by NTPC Geet.
Addressing the gathering, Mishra highlighted the glorious history of NTPC during the last 49 years and its contribution in the development of the country. “NTPC has emerged as India’s largest power company, with a vision ‘To be the World’s leading Power Company, Energizing India’s Growth’. Today, with an installed capacity of more than 76 GW and a diverse portfolio of thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants, NTPC is dedicated to delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity to the nation. The company is committed to adopting best practices, fostering innovation, and embracing clean energy
technologies for a greener future,” Mishra added.
He also spoke on the new initiatives and achievements of NTPC with focus on Renewable energy and adoption of new technologies. In his speech, the Chief Guest also spoke on accomplishment in the area of Operation Services, Commercial, Unified Shared Services Centre (USSC), Station Engineering, Corporate Operation Services, Ash New Initiatives, etc.
Mishra also threw light on the performance of NTPC Power Plants (Korba, Sipat, Lara, Gadarwara and Khargone) in Western Region-II besides opportunities and challenges ahead. He also spoke on the initiatives like Mass Tree Plantation, Ash Utilisation and Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) to enrich the environment. He also highlighted the efforts taken by NTPC Nava Raipur as well as Power Stations of the region in the area of Green Township, Scrap Disposal, Safety, CSR and other initiatives.
During this occasion, the dignitaries Cut the cake and released balloon to mark the occasion. The occasion also marked with Cultural Programme organised by Arpita Mahila Samiti. Later, all joined the Live Telecast of NTPC CMD’s address.
U H Gokhe, Executive Director (USSC); S K Ghosh, Executive Director (Operations Services), Smt Ayesha Mishra, President and other office bearers of Arpita Mahila Samiti; NTPC officials and their family members were present in large numbers on this occasion.
NTPC Lara station also organised events to mark the 50th raising day of power major. Anil Kumar, Executive Director (NTPC Lara) hoisted the NTPC Flag in front of Chakradhar Bhavan (Administrative Building). In his address to the employees, Kumar highlighted the journey of NTPC and shared the achievements and future plans of NTPC Group as well as the accomplishments of Lara Super Thermal Power Station.
Kumar congratulated all employees for making Lara station in the 1st position till 13th October for achieving the highest plant load factor (PLF). He appreciated the contribution of all the departments to accept all challenges and deliver to fulfil the target. Kumar also highlighted NTPC Lara’s social commitment for providing drinking water in Sakti district, better health care facility in Jashpur district and providing world class library facility in Raigarh district.
